OUR PASTOR

Rev. Monique Lemmon has been serving as the pastor of Empowering Ministries Outreach Center (EMOC) since it's establishment in March, 2019. After serving as an associate minister for 8 years, Rev. Lemmon was brought on staff as the Minister of Discipleship at the New Psalmist Baptist Church where she served for 6 years under the leadership of Bishop Walter Scott Thomas, Sr. After wise counsel from Rev. Lemmon's pastor, Bishop Thomas, and seeking guidance and direction from God, Rev. Lemmon closed that chapter of her ministry journey and stepped out on faith to plant Empowering Ministries which was later named, Empowering Ministries Outreach Center.

Under Rev. Lemmon's leadership, EMOC has established a food pantry, conducted outreach projects, made connections with the Park Heights Renaissance Community and built a partnership with the Druid Hill YMCA. Her love for children and her excitement to see people become empowered to overcome life challenges has given her an established voice in the community. Rev. Lemmon is an out of the box thinker and visionary who seek ways to reach the people that others have overlooked.

Rev. Lemmon received her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management. She later earned her Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology in Richmond, VA. Rev. Lemmon sat before a counsel while serving at New Psalmist Baptist Church and was ordained to 'Reverend' in 2016.

Rev. Lemmon and her husband, David, have been serving in ministry together throughout their marriage.
