FIRST GENTLEMAN

 

First Gentlemen David Lemmon was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where his foundation of faith, family, and service first took root. He is the devoted husband of Pastor Monique Lemmon, faithfully serving beside her in ministry and purpose.

 

David is a proud graduate of the Baltimore City Public School System. His Christian journey began at Bethel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Dr. Frank Reid, where he became active in the young adult ministry known as Joshua Generation. This ministry played a pivotal role in shaping his early spiritual walk, teaching young adults how to navigate life’s challenges by being led by God.

 

In 1996, David joined New Psalmist Baptist Church under Bishop Walter Scott Thomas Sr. There he served in several ministries, including the New Life Addiction Ministry, the Singles Ministry, and the Drama Ministry called Revelation Players. His desire to grow spiritually led him to enroll in the church’s intensive three‑year Discipleship Program, which deepened his understanding of God’s will for his life. After graduating, he continued his development by completing Leadership School, ultimately becoming President of the New Members Ministry.

In 2009, David and his wife followed God’s leading to Dublin, Ohio, where they joined and served faithfully under the late Dr. Charles E. Booth at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Their time there strengthened their ministry partnership and broadened their spiritual influence.

 

In 2012, the Lemmons returned to Baltimore and reconnected with their New Psalmist family. David continued his commitment to discipleship by facilitating two full three‑year Discipleship classes, both of which successfully graduated all participating students.

 

In 2019, the Lord called Rev. Monique Lemmon and David Lemmon to lead Empowering Ministries Outreach Center. It was there that David embraced his role as First Gentlemen and was later ordained as a Deacon under Pastor Monique Lemmon leadership. He continues to serve with humility and passion, leading Discipleship initiatives and hosting Barbershop Talks, a powerful ministry space for the men of Empowering Ministries Outreach Center.
